The RSPB speaks up for birds and wildlife, helping to tackle the problems that threaten our environment. However, there's more than meets the eye to the RSPB's work!

Through projects around the world, the RSPB are making huge strides to help protect some of our most threatened species and natural environments. In the Harapan rainforest with the help of Birdlife International Partner organisations, they are restoring a huge area of rainforest, about two thirds the size of Greater London, and protecting the natural habitat for the critically endangered Sumatran tiger, elephants and gibbons to name a few!
Harapan Rainforest is just one of many RSPB projects beyond our shores, which are essential parts of its work. From albatrosses in the southern oceans to vultures in the Indian sub-continent, the RSPB is tackling extinction around the world. In Belarus, the charity is restoring vast peatlands which will provide a home for wetland birds, otters and orchids. Protecting peatlands also helps in the fight against climate change by locking carbon in the ground. It's a great example of how the RSPB's conservation work has a broad scope and delivers lasting benefits.
